Planning round-up – Three applications that stood out this week

Here are three planning applications that caught our attention this week.

PL/26/02253/VRC | Variation of condition 14 (approved plans) of planning permission PL/25/0769/FA (Construction of 2 detached dwellings with associated parking) to modify the access road | Land To The Rear Of 16 Wymers Wood Road Burnham Buckinghamshire SL1 8JJ

This planning application was put forward to Buckinghamshire Council on March 18, which has asked for two detached houses to be built along Wymers Wood Road, Burnham.

It was validated on March 24, roughly three months after a separate set of plans were submitted.

In December 2025, application ref: PL/25/0769/FA was approved for the construction of 2no new detached dwellings with associated parking.

Following the grant of planning consent, the applicant wishes to relocate the access road closer to the southern boundary, as shown on the proposed site plan (ref: 3135-PL-201).

The amended proposal will improve No16 parking area and will provide a more direct access to the two new dwellings.

The width of the relocated entrance will be 4.8m wide.

PL/26/02234/CONDA | Application for approval of details subject to condition 1 (noise impact assessment) of planning approval 24/05756/PNPCR. | Third Floor The Apollo Centre Desborough Road High Wycombe Buckinghamshire HP11 2QW

These plans were put forward to Buckinghamshire Council on March 19 this year, in relation to an application that was submitted two years ago, to convert the business space into six two-bed apartments.

Documents uploaded to the planning portal in recent days has suggested that a recent consultation with those in the area was ‘inappropriate’.

One document reads: “We have no comments to make in respect of the proposed development.

“This consultation is inappropriate, and we did not need to be consulted because the Application for approval of details subject to condition 1 (noise impact assessment) of planning approval 24/05756/PNPCR, is not a condition we originally set.”

PL/26/02118/CONDA | Application for approval of details subject to condition 8 (soft landscaping) of planning approval PL/22/4336/FA | Holmer Green Farm Penfold Lane Holmer Green Buckinghamshire HP15 6XW

These plans were submitted to Buckinghamshire Council on March 16.

The condition requires full details of soft landscaping works, including retained trees, planting plans, written specifications, and schedules of species, sizes, and densities.

The proposals integrate the development into its countryside setting, enhance biodiversity, and deliver a net ecological gain.

Key features include:

  • Retention and reinforcement of existing hedgerows and scrub boundaries
  • A framework of native structural trees (oak, lime, birch, cherry, hornbeam, rowan) to provide screening and amenity
  • Smaller and fastigiate trees (hawthorn, crab apple, wild pear, field maple) positioned between plots and gardens
  • Mixed native hedgerows planted in double staggered rows to strengthen boundaries
  • Pollinator-friendly shrubs and borders, featuring drought-resistant perennials such as salvia, euphorbia, sedum, and echinops
  • Climbers and wall shrubs to soften fencing and built form
  • Wildflower grassland and flowering lawn mixes to establish diverse, resilient habitats
